When we say we have a great community for our kids, we mean it in every sense of the word. Tonight, we had around 60 kids from Salem, St. Joseph’s, and Christ the King completing another awesome project together as they packed around 300 care packages to be handed out at the Siouxland Soup Kitchen.
This is in addition to the Thanksgiving meal that all three congregations helped fundraise for, thanks in large part to the organization of Pat and Korah Korth who have been doing this with their St. Joseph’s youth group for about 7 or 8 years. This year, they asked if we wanted to join in along with Christ the King, and it was an easy YES!
We all want to thank all of the community members who contributed to these youth groups, making it possible for us to put together some great care packages and get all the fixings for the Soup Kitchen’s Thanksgiving dinner (complete with home-grown potatoes from John & Helen Schweers!!) Shout out to our youth leaders for bringing everyone together to share in God’s work!
